Managing Mental & Emotional Health

The coronavirus (COVID-19) has turned life upside down for everyone. Most Americans are self-quarantining, schools are closed, sports and entertainment industries are shut down, and unemployment is on the rise. Navigating these and other life changes can cause anxiety, fear, stress, and overall, challenge our mental health. Lately, it feels like even a trip to the grocery store can bring on anxiety. But, in the midst of these changes, we want to encourage you that God is in control and in His goodness and grace, He desires for you to receive His love, peace, and hope during this pandemic and long after its effects.

Whether you were already overwhelmed prior to the coronavirus or you are struggling in your mental health right now, you are not alone! At Ocean Church, we recognize the difficult season of life you’re in, which is why our privilege, passion and commitment is to help guide you through this unprecedented time in our history. We want to walk with you and empower you with Scripture and faith-based tools that will help you to live a full, faith-filled life.

Below, you will see that we have focused on five key areas of mental health and provided Scriptures, book suggestions and websites/podcasts as resources of encouragement and healing. As you walk out your journey towards health and growth, we want you to know that we are here for you! We also want to invite you to join one of our many online groups, which provides support and encouragement to help you move forward. Lastly, know that we are praying for you, and we pray that these resources will bless you, guide you towards emotional health, and draw you closer to Jesus. 

The Bible says in James 5:16, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” We believe in the power of prayer, and it is our joy to pray for you.
